Okay, so this should have been posted last night but I ended up falling asleep. Anyhoo, here's a quick recap of Project Better Body, Day #1. The goal was to clean house, which meant bye, bye sugary cereal...bye, bye junk food...bye, bye soda...bye, bye crap. Everything and anything that wasn't considered "healthy" was given away or thrown out. Now that the fridge was practically empty it was time to go food shopping.
I made three stops: Pathmark, Trade Fair and Trader Joe. I mostly stayed in the outer aisles in each store and bought lots of fish, meats, fruits, veggies, dairy, nuts and teas. I had already purchased my supplements over the weekend and they arrived yesterday as well....YEEPY! So I'm good to go nutrition wise. The next step is to consistently follow a "clean eating" diet. The key word being consistently.
My eating habits, I believe, are what's keeping me from my goals. I enjoy eating and am aware that I am an emotional eater. When I'm happy, I eat. When I'm sad, I eat. When I'm bored, I eat. Seeing a pattern here? And WHAT I've been eating lately (sugary and fatty foods) has definitely been affecting my mood and my energy level so that definitely has to change. With that said, stay tuned for Day #2's goal . . . . to eat clean for an entire day.
